Research In Profile

Professor David S. Green has a diverse research programme that captures many aspects of family studies and human development, including mental health, wellness, fathering, parenting, and relationships. A focus of his research examines the historical and sociocultural contexts of fathering and mothering (parenting) and the challenges and barriers that fathers and mothers have encountered, particularly Black Caribbean families. His work reflects a deep understanding and analysis of sociocultural factors and a deconstruction of traditional paradigms. He has published his work in several peer-reviewed journal articles.

David's expertise in multiple methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative methods, allows him to examine psychological issues in depth and breadth. Furthermore, his psychology and counselling psychology training have played an important role in informing his research. His work has significant implications for bridging the gaps between theory, policy, and practice.
