Historical health research has focused on men and ignored the unique experiences, needs and challenges faced by women, whose lives are shaped by different conditions.

Women’s health research intentionally seeks to understand, and celebrate, women’s differences. We focus on how social conditions and inequities affect women’s health and quality of life. Our research helps tailor healthcare to meet the most pressing needs of women in ways that are respectful, appropriate and fit with the realities of their lives.
