Communications and Marketing Internship, London Heritage Council 

The  (LHC) is offering a Winter 2025 Communications and Marketing Internship to provide support and administrative coordination to various programs and events, including the Heritage Fair, Doors Open London, and Canada Day.

Students in the Arts & Humanities have interned with the LHC for the past few years and had nothing but good things to say about their experiences.

The intern will work 10 hours per week (3 hours onsite, 7 offsite) from January 6 to April 25. This unpaid internship can be counted through the Arts and Humanities Internship Program (AHIP) as a 0.5 academic credit.

How to Apply

Applicants MUST be registered in the AHIP and meet the program’s eligibility criteria.  Apply to the AHIP via  or contact ahintern@uwo.ca for assistance. 

For more information about the internship and the application instructions, go into , click “Internship/Co-op” in the left menu, then “Undergraduate/Graduate” and “Intern/Co-op Jobs” and search using job #115294. The posting will not appear under the regular “Job Postings” tab.

In addition to a resume and cover letter, you are to include 3 writing samples. The samples should be of different genres and, if possible, include something social-media-, outreach-, or marketing-related. If you don’t have anything like that, submit three samples of different genres (essay, report, story, etc.)

The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Internship Description
The Publishing Intern will provide support and administrative coordination for Occasus, a literary journal featuring creative writing in the Dept. of English and Writing Studies in 澳门六合彩开奖预测's Faculty of Arts & Humanities.

The employer/organization will:

  • provide mentorship, guidance, and instruction in publishing (typesetting and document design), publicity (specifically, running social media accounts), and event organizing.
  • work closely with the intern and provide the support they need to accomplish their tasks.

The student will:

  • set up and run social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) for Occasus.
  • create and implement posting strategies.
  • organize open-mic and other events or a series of events to promote the journal.
  • transfer back issues of the journal from the website to PDF files which will involve typesetting the submissions.

The intern may also be involved in producing the upcoming issue of the journal. 


Student Qualifications
The student needs relatively minimal qualifications. Experience in publishing and promotion is an asset, but not necessary. Most importantly, this student should be interested in publishing and literary promotion. This position effectively gives them hands-on experience in both.

Learning Outcomes
The student will learn about book design and typesetting, literary promotion, and literary event organizing. They will be introduced to the skills necessary to work as a journal editor or small press publisher.

Teaching Assistant Internships at TVDSB, Winter 2025

Interested in an education-related career? Don’t miss this opportunity! 

The AHIP has partnered with the to offer Teaching Assistant internships in London and the surrounding area for the Winter 2025 term, from January 6-April 4, 2025. 

To be eligible for these internships, students must... 

  • be in second, third, or fourth year and registered in an Honours Specialization, Specialization, or Major in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. 
  • have a minimum cumulative average of at least 70%. 
  • have no failures or academic offenses. 
  • be able to travel to and from the assigned school on their own. 

Students will typically work 10 hours per week over the 12 weeks of the term. The internships are unpaid.

AVAILABLE PLACEMENTS  

IMPORTANT: Placements will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Apply early to secure your top choice.

Education Internship Opportunity, Fall and/or Winter Term

Are you passionate about teaching and eager to gain hands-on experience in the classroom? Become a Teaching Assistant at your old high school or elementary school.

Whether you have a favorite teacher you'd like to mentor you, or you want to work at a school that's close to home, you can develop your own internship and count it for credit if you're enrolled in the AHIP.

If you are interested, the AHIP Experiential Learning Team can contact the school on your behalf or you can contact them directly, and then provide us with the teacher's contact information so we can organize the internship.

澳门六合彩开奖预测’s Work Study program offers an opportunity for students to work part-time on campus in jobs that accommodate their studies. The objectives of the Work Study program are: to assist students in financial need with a regular source of income, offer students training and experience that will assist them in further studies and their eventual entrance into the workforce, and to help staff and faculty. Financial need is determined in a manner similar to the Canada and Ontario Student Loans assessment. It involves assessing the costs of the program the student is registered in, based on advice from our students, and the resources available to them.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Work Study, you must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, and demonstrate a genuine financial need.  If you are applying in Fall/Winter, you must be registered at main campus in a minimum 60% course load (40% course load for students with disabilities).

Work Study is generally not offered to first year students, as their financial need is met through the Admission Bursary process, and Work Study assistance would decrease the amount of Admission Bursary assistance.  For special circumstances for international or graduate students, please see below.

Note: Students registered at an affiliated college are not eligible for the main campus Work Study program during the Fall/Winter academic term.  If you are attending at an affiliate, please check with your college for information regarding available Work Study.

How to Apply

The Bursary, Work Study & Need Based Award programs are all based on financial need, and are all applied for via the Financial Assistance Profile Application. The Fall/Winter 2024-25 application will be available through the  at the end of August. Once logged into your , click Student Financials > Financial Aid and Funding > Apply for Financial Assistance > Click here to Apply for Financial Assistance to access the application.

Application Deadlines

The deadline to apply for work study for the Fall/Winter term is February 28.

Remote Internship Opportunities, Level Up Program
