Career Coach Office Hours
David Feeney, a Career Coach in 澳门六合彩开奖预测’s office, will be holding office hours in University College for Arts & Humanities students.
Students can talk to David about anything career related, such as degree to career linkage, resumes and cover letters, next steps, etc. A&H students often don’t have a straight line from their degree to a career, and David can offer advice on how to prepare for the job market, articulate your transferable skills, and develop potential career paths.
David’s drop-in hours will be held in UC 2432:

How do I talk about my transferable skills? Learn how to identify those skills, talk about them in relation to an internship, and unpack job postings to understand what the employer really wants.

Your cover letter is NOT simply your resume presented in a slightly different format. Crafting a compelling cover letter to a job application can often be the reason your resume gets reviewed at all while also ultimately affecting an organization's decision to select you as one of a limited number of candidates to interview (out of a larger pool of "qualified" individuals) You can view more details about recruiting and career events at connect.uwo.ca/events

Join this workshop to discuss the importance of a compelling cover letter, what defines such a document and how you can design the document so that you can separate yourself from other applicants (in a positive manner) and increase your chances of moving forward in the recruiting process.

Networking is not about using other people to get a job; it's about asking for directions and making connections so that you are in the conversation & can receive consideration when an employment opportunity becomes available. In this session you will learn practical networking skills such as how to effectively conduct informational discussions/coffee chats, how to get referrals from discussions, how to start the process of networking (when you aren't even sure where to begin), how to construct your "pitch", and how to use social media/LinkedIn to get the most out of your networking efforts!

Interviewing is an art and preparation is the key to success. Whether interviewing for an internship, graduate school, or your first "real" job after graduation, you need to be prepared. Learn the about the science behind interviewing, your interviewer's objectives, the various elements of a professional interview, how to prepare for and answer different questions and tips for interviewing virtually! Attend this workshop to learn how to interview with excellence and impress your audience in your next interview!

Workshop: Co-op Work Permit for International Students
澳门六合彩开奖预测 Internation is hosting a VIRTUAL series of Co-op Work Permit Workshops this Fall!
These workshops will outline the eligibility criteria, required documents and the process to submit an application for a co-op work permit, to assist international students on matters of the co-op work permit document, as well as working authorization.
Information will be presented by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).
You may find the registration link below for each workshop.
