Bursaries are non-repayable, taxable grants issued to students who demonstrate financial need. They supplement other sources of funding such as OSAP, the student's own resources and/or those of the parents/spouse.

First-Year Students

Peter Paul Van Der Borch Bursary

Awarded annually to a first-year student entering the MPT program, based on demonstrated financial need.

Two awards of $1,000 each

Kathy Obright Graduate Award in Physical Therapy

Awarded annually to a first-year MPT student who demonstrates a collaborative and supportive learning approach with classmates, as well as an exemplary aptitude in orthopedics. The recipient will be selected by the Student Affairs Committee in the School of Physical Therapy. This award was established by a generous gift from the family, friends and colleagues of Professor Kathy Obright (MSc Physical Therapy, 1995), a former faculty member in the School of Physical Therapy.

One award of $1,000

Application deadline: Nominations from other students, faculty and staff must be made by May 31 to the School of Physical Therapy Graduate Assistant

Second-Year Students

Sally Morgan Bursary

Awarded annually to students entering their final year of the Master of Physical Therapy program who have demonstrated unmet financial need through an OSAP-type needs assessment.

One award of $1500

Dr. Deborah Lucy Graduate Award in Physical Therapy

Awarded annually to a second-year MPT student who has demonstrated a commitment to promoting the collective well-being and health of the student physiotherapy community at 澳门六合彩开奖预测. The recipient will be selected by the Student Affairs Committee in the School of Physical Therapy, of which at least one representative is a current member of the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. This award was established by Mrs. Kristin K. Ball (BSc 2002 and daughter of Deb Lucy), as well as family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Deborah Lucy (PhD Physiology 1997, MSc Physiology 1992, MClSc Physical Therapy 1983, BScMR Physical Therapy 1971).

Clinical Placement Financial Support

Leslie A. Bisbee Clinical Experience Bursary in Physical Therapy

Awarded to a student enrolled in PT9183 or PT9184 (Senior and Consolidation Clinical Placements) during the final year of the MPT program who has demonstrated a financial need. The bursary will provide support for travel and accommodation expenses associated with a senior placement. Preference will be given for an out of province or international placement.

One award of $1625.25

Faculty of Health Sciences Clinical Education Placement Travel Support Fund

Students can apply for funding to offset some of the costs associated with a clinical education placement. This funding is not guaranteed and might vary depending on funding availability year to year.

Maximum support is $400 over the course of the MPT program.

Distance Clinical Placement Bursary

One award for first-year MPT student and one award for second-year MPT student, based on financial need.

$750 per award
