Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) Program
The Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program is dedicated to being internationally recognized for excellence, leadership and innovation in Physical Therapy education, practice and research through dedicated clinical, academic, research and professional partnerships. The program prepares students to seek licensure to practice physiotherapy in Canada in a wide range of practice settings.
The combined MPT/PhD program takes fives years to finish and students complete all of the requirements of both the PhD program and the MPT program in Physical Therapy, offered through the School of Physical Therapy. Students begin with two years of full-time study in the PhD program, followed by two years of full-time in the MPT program.
Leveraging the expertise of School of Physical Therapy faculty members, the Graduate Program in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS) centres around nine different fields of study that reflect areas of strength among researchers in the Faculty of Health Sciences and provides students with an opportunity to explore issues and ideas related to the health of people around the world.
The first of its kind in Canada, the Advanced Health Care Practice program offers advanced training in clinical specialties. Students can focus their studies on the program's distinct fields of study, which are led by members of the School of Physical Therapy:
