Lauren Denusik, BAH
MClSc/PhD candidate
Biography: Lauren is completing her MCISc/PhD in Speech-Language Pathology and Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Honours in Speech Sciences with a Minor in Commerce at the University of British Columbia. For her doctoral thesis, Lauren is conducting a series of practice-based research projects with speech-language pathologists and parents to develop a practical and sustainable model for family-centered, language-based interventions for preschool aged children with autism.
Alyssa Janes, MSc

Biography: Alyssa is completing a MCISc/PhD in Speech-Language Pathology and Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She previously completed her HBSc in Life Sciences with a minor in Linguistics at McMaster University and MSc in Health and Rehabilitation Science (Speech and Language Science) at 澳门六合彩开奖预测. For her doctoral thesis, Alyssa is using EEG to explore the relationship between neurological response to sound and language proficiency in children aged 1-5 years.
Vipula Rajesh Kumar, MASLP
PhD student
Biography: Vipula is a PhD student in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (Speech and Language Science) under the co-supervision of Drs. Janis Oram Cardy and Amanda Binns. She completed her bachelor's and masters in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology in Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, India. She has experience in working in a special school and a multi-disciplinary paediatric clinic that aims to improve the communication skills of children. For her doctoral thesis, Vipula is evaluating the effectiveness of a community delivered social communication training program for families of autistic preschool children.
Jessica Holmes, HBSc
MClSc/PhD student
Biography: Jessica is completing a MCISc/PhD in Speech-Language Pathology and Health & Rehabilitation Sciences under the co-supervision of Drs. Janis Oram Cardy and David Purcell. She completed her HBSc in Chemistry with a Minor in Linguistics at the University of Ottawa. For her doctoral thesis, Jessica is studying the relationship between auditory feedback and the development of speech motor control in children.
Camila Fridman, BSc(H)
MSc student
Biography: Camila is completing her MSc in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (Speech and Language Sciences) under the co-supervision of Drs. Janis Oram Cardy and Olivia Daub. She previously completed a Bachelor of Sciences Honours in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. Her research will continue Dr. Daub's work evaluating spoken language outcome monitoring for children who are deaf/hard of hearing in the Ontario Infant Hearing Program.
