Co-op Seminars and Networking Opportunities

The course EnvrSust 9300 includes a series of seminars which prepare students for the co-op work term employment search. These seminars generally take place every other week and cover the following topics:

  • Resume and cover letter preparation
  • Effective tips for job searching
  • Networking techniques and social media
  • Interview preparation, including mock interviews
  • Excel skills for the workplace
  • Professionalism and etiquette.

Along with the seminars, guest speakers are regularly invited to interact with students to discuss their career path and provide advice. Finally, the MES Program has developed networks in the environmental community in London and Toronto that are regularly leveraged to provide additional interaction with practitioners.

Examples of such interactions are:

  • Green Drinks organized by (LEN) every other month
  • Guest Speakers from Environment Canada (high-level management)
  • Networking sessions with MES alumni.
  • Expert Panels from the industry.
