A big thank you to 澳门六合彩开奖预测 medical students Christian Neira Agonh, Virginia Bueno and Andrés Jiménez (University of Windsor) and also to Dr. Daniel Tejada, for visiting our "Medical Spanish, Health, and Healing" class last Friday. Being very generous with their time, they spoke with our students about the following topics:

  • The application processes for health professions in Canada (medicine, nursing and physiotherapy).
  • The importance of networking and mentorship.
  • The need for Spanish medical interpreters in our community.
  • Other opportunities open to medical professionals who speak Spanish (exchanges, placements etc.).

It was a really fun, informative and inspiring session!

Engaging with Casa Latina

Yesterday evening, the students in the cross listed COMPLIT 2150 (Create & Connect! Cultural Production and Community Engagement) AND SPANISH 3505 (¡Seamos creativos! Cultural Production and Community Engagement), visited Casa Latina, a community center located in downtown London.

David Ayala, one of the founders of Casa Latina and Culturx, spoke to our students about the journey of creating and then operating the center. We also spoke about the ways in which the students will be able to engage with the community and in so doing also help to support the center's goals from now until the end of the year. More exciting news to come!
