Hispanic Studies Graduate Student Funding 2022-2023

External Scholarships:
Students are strongly encouraged to apply for external awards such as (available to Masters students who are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents), (available to students who are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents, International students may apply for one of 8 International OGS awards available across campus), (available to Commonwealth citizens). All of these awards, subject to certain conditions, may be held in conjunction with Teaching Assistantships and some other awards offered by the University. The Graduate Program in Hispanic Studies offers a travel grant of approximately $400 per student to subsidize travel related to conferences, visit archives and libraries for research or to collect data. This money is awarded one time per financial year (the financial year runs from May 1st to April 30th). In order to apply for one of these grants you must submit the application.

Graduate Thesis Research Fund
Applications that offer a clear rationale for the proposed activity, exhibit innovation, and contain a
budget explaining fully how the money requested will be spent, will receive preference.
Who can apply: Awards are only available to full-time students at The University of 澳门六合彩开奖预测 Ontario
who are enrolled in a graduate program leading to a Masters or PhD degree. Applicants must be
engaged in writing a thesis/dissertation as a part of their degree requirements. The applicant must be
eligible for the program both at the time of application and at the time of the expense. Should the
awardee cease to be a student at the University during the tenure of the award, the award will be
cancelled and all remaining and recoverable monies returned to the common fund.
Value: The maximum award will be $1,500.00.
The research expenses should occur between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022. We will not
accept retroactive requests.
Unlike the other three awards, the Graduate Thesis Research Award is not a scholarship. The students
will be required to submit receipts to be reimbursed.

Faculty of Arts and Humanities Alumni Graduate Awards
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities Alumni Graduate Awards are awarded to full time graduate
students registered in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and enrolled in any graduate program in the
Faculty of Arts and Humanities who can demonstrate financial need and are maintaining a minimum
78% average. Doctoral candidates have priority, but Masters candidates are also eligible. The awards
will be used to support graduate research expenses during the period January 1, 2022 to December 31,
2022. Applicants must supply a project description and a detailed budget. Recipients will be selected
by the Associate Dean Research of Arts and Humanities upon consultation with the Graduate Chairs.
Value: up to $9,000 will be available, with no single award to exceed $1,500.
Criteria: Recipients must meet OSOTF eligibility requirements including demonstrable financial need
and evidence of Ontario residency. To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent
Resident and meet one of the Ontario residency requirements.
Deadline: January 24, 2022 (no late submissions will be accepted).
Mary Routledge Fellowships
Awarded to full-time graduate students registered in the in the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral
Studies in a graduate program based in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Doctoral candidates have
priority, but Masters candidates are also eligible.
These Fellowships will be awarded to graduate students in order to cover expenses incurred as a result
of a need to consult archival material off campus, or to otherwise travel in the context of their research.
Candidates must have maintained a minimum A- average and exhibit research ability or potential.
These fellowships were established through Foundation 澳门六合彩开奖预测 by a bequest from the late Mary B.

Value: The numbers and amounts of award will vary with applications in any given year.

Lynne-Lionel Scott Fellowship in Canadian Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities
Awarded to a graduate student(s) registered full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies enrolled in a
Graduate Program within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities with a demonstrated interest in Canadian
studies and a minimum 78% average.
Doctoral candidates have priority, but Masters candidates are also eligible. The Scholarship will be
used to support research in Canadian arts, culture, literatures, language, or philosophy. This
scholarship was established by Mrs. Rose Lynne Scott, through Foundation 澳门六合彩开奖预测 to encourage
studies in the area of Canadian studies.
Value: A maximum of three awards per year, up to a combined total of $2,500.

Graduate Student Travel Grant

GTA Funds through PSAC 610
Graduate students employed as Graduate Teaching Assistants can apply for funds through their union, PSAC 610. The union has both scholarships and funds for various student issues. These applications are accessed, applied and adjudicated entirely through the union.
Graduate Student support through SOGS

They offer a number of programs to support students in financial need, with childcare and travel. These funds are accessed, applied and adjucated entirely through SOGS.
