Good organization recognize that a balance is needed between the demands of work, family and personal life. When workplaces value a healthy balance, employees have higher morale, less stress, burnout, and miss fewer days of work. What can I do as an employee?

  • Define what a healthy balance means to you
  • Prioritize your responsibilities
  • Discuss with your supervisor about current demands at home
  • Discuss with your family about demands at work - could family members take on additional responsibilities at home?
  • Use your breaks to focus on personal wellness
  • Don't forget the importance of sleep, hydration, nutrition, and physical activity
  • Utilize the wellness resources and supports that area available to you
  • Implement one thing that could improve your work/life balance in the next week

What can I do as a manager or supervisor?
