Understand what makes the human body capable of such incredible things.

The Bachelor of Science (Honors Specialization) program is designed to give students a deeper appreciation of the life sciences. In addition to investigating courses throughout the broad scope of Kinesiology, that include exercise physiology, biomechanics, anatomy, sports injuries, exercise psychology, sport management and professional ethics, students must choose courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math from the Faculty of Science.

  • - Introduction to Psychomotor Behaviour
  • - Introduction to Human Physiology

Students are also required to complete 1.0 courses from the subject areas of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics as follows:

  •  or  or the former Physics 1028A/B or the former Physics 1301A/B or  and  or  or the former Physics 1029A/B or the former Physics 1302A/B or .

Progression from Year 1 to Year 2
This is a limited enrolment module (75 spaces) and progression standards may fluctuate from year to year.

  • To progress into this module, students require:
    • A minimum 70% cumulative average in first year
    • No grade less than 60%
    • A minimum 70% modular average in the following 3.0 principal courses
      • Kin 1050A, 1060B, 1070A, 1080B, and Physiology 1021
    • Students who select the BSc module during Intent to Register, but who are not eligible, will automatically be considered for the Honors BA module (see below) and can attempt to transfer into the BSc module the following year
    • Students with a reduced course load will be considered
    • Students must have completed the 1.0 science prerequisites to be considered for the BSc
    • Students who are missing some or all of Kin 1050/1060/1070/1080 and Phys 1021 are eligible to apply

Note: The Honours Specialization in Kinesiology - BSc is a limited enrollment program. More competitive academic standing may be required when demand exceeds enrollment capacity. In the event demand exceeds enrollment capacity a student’s term average will also be taken into consideration. Admission to the module is restricted to students registered in the School of Kinesiology.

Graduation minimum average requirements
Students must maintain a 70% average on their senior kinesiology courses with no grade less than 60%. Additionally, students must maintain a cumulative average of 65% with no failed courses.
