Awarded to full-time students in any undergraduate degree program based on a submission of poetry that is original, titled, and previously unpublished. Poems must be in English and may use any style of poetry. Poems will be judged for their originality, and for their use of form and technique, traditional or contemporary, in a skillful and creative way to create or intensify themes or effect. Awarded competitively to an undergraduate student (including students at the affiliated colleges) who exhibits a developing talent for creative writing on the basis of a portfolio of submitted writings (prose, fiction, poetry or drama) that has not so far been published or won an award in any other competition.  See contest rules. 

Awarded to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident registered at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ô¤²â who submits, in English or French, any recent work of creative writing, on a theme of Canadian heritage, that has not so far been published or entered in any other competition. Application should be directed to the Associate Dean of Arts by March 1. See contest rules.
