澳门六合彩开奖预测's third annual Knowledge Exchange School will be held virtually via Zoom with sessions on December 1st, 8th, and 15th, 2021. Attendees are welcome to sign up for as few or as many sessions as they wish. This year’s topics are geared to providing attendees with information and tools aligned to the current research landscape, including:

  • A focus on knowledge exchange and equity, diversity and inclusion in grant applications;
  • Tools to measure and profile research impact;
  • Creating a global digital identity to facilitate research impact;
  • Tips and techniques for research policy impact; and
  • Media and social media use for research exchange & dissemination.

Introduction to Knowledge Exchange

This pre-recorded session will provide an overview of knowledge exchange: its definition, theoretical framework, and terminology. Some innovative knowledge exchange approaches that can be used to share and disseminate research will be highlighted, including some specific strategies that can be used to pivot as a result of the COVID pandemic.

Writing Knowledge Exchange into Grant Applications

This pre-recorded session will explore knowledge exchange across the Tri-Council agencies (SSHRC, CIHR, NSERC) and provide in-depth information on how to build and integrate knowledge exchange plans into robust grant applications. Knowledge Exchange and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

An overview of equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI) and knowledge exchange as well as their intersection will be explored in this session. Learn how strategies to ensure EDI align with integrated knowledge exchange and build inclusive engagement. Attendees will be introduced to a tool to help guide the development of meaningful and impactful knowledge exchange and EDI practices that enhance research excellence across the research life cycle – from the team and environment, design and analysis, through to dissemination and exchange of research.

Six Tools to Help You Show Your Research Impact

This session will provide an overview and comparison of six tools that can be used to demonstrate research impact: Web of Science, InCites, Scopus, Google Scholar, Altmetric Explorer, and Scholarship@澳门六合彩开奖预测. Attendees will leave knowing how to use these six tools to find 20+ individual indicators to enhance your research impact description, which tools to use when and the differences between Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar.

Setting Up a Global Digital Identity to Track Your Research Impact

If you could set up one researcher identity to track all your research outputs and research impact across your career, would you? This hands-on session will provide an overview of the benefits of ORCID iD with facilitators in break-out rooms providing individualized support and step-by-step instructions to create your ORCID iD and populate your ORCID profile with your publications and grant information.

Translating Research into Policy Change: Tips & Techniques to Reach Decision-Makers

How can your research have a greater impact? How do you drive policy change or influence decision makers? What are some of the most effective ways to shape public policy at the local, provincial, or federal level? This two-hour workshop takes a practical approach to answer these and other questions. It covers a range of techniques, from knowledge dissemination (such as preparing compelling policy briefs) to building good government relations and launching large-scale advocacy campaigns. 

To anyone interesting in translating their research and work into broader public or policy change — well, this workshop is for you.

Media and Social Media to Enhance Research Exchange and Dissemination

How does one prepare for a conversation with the media to discuss their research? What are some best practices for communicating vs. broadcasting research on social media? How is social media different from traditional media? Are there effective ways to broaden your reach, engage diverse stakeholders, measure your success and strategically use media and social media for increased research impact? In this session, we will explore these questions along with discussing the art of storytelling to disseminate your research specifically to media and using social media.
