The North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad (NACLO) is a linguistics competition featuring an assortment of language and logic problems for high-school students of all experience levels. This year's NACLO open round will be on Thursday, January 29, from 10am-1pm. UWO will be one contest site.

You should take advantage of the NACLO online practice system, which automatically scores your solutions to give you feedback. Helpful problems include: Cameroon Pidgin English (2014), Waorani Numbers (2012), Axolotl in the Water (2011), Swallow the Salt (2011), and Lost in Yerevan (2010).
To discuss the above practice problems, we will hold a Skype "drop in" video conference for NACLO prep, or in-person drop-in for those who don't have exams and do have the ability to travel to UWO campus on the days we've selected:
Thursday, January 22nd from 10-12:30; and
Tuesday, January 27th from 10-1 pm
