Both the newly constructed Amit Chakma Engineering Building and historic University College received top honours from the Don Smith Commercial Building Awards. .

London Urban Design Awards
‘Kent Walk’ revamp earns top design award. The design and execution by London architects Tillmann Ruth Robinson won the award for best Public Space & Landscape at the biennial London Urban Design Awards. .
Green Building Excellence Award for New Construction
Recognized for “making a difference” in Canada’s green building industry, the Amit Chakma Engineering Building has been presented the Green Building Excellence Award for New Construction by the Canada Green Building Council. .

The Richard Ivey Building won in the Institutional education category. Judges said the building was selected for “the architect’s use and combination of natural stone, glass, copper and wood with natural light. Its formidable, yet humble, presence gives the old collegiate feel a long-term legacy that is built for the ages.”
The Wind Engineering Energy & Environment Dome (WindEEE) won in the Industrial Technology category. Judges said the building was selected “based on its world-leading global testing facility, which is unique worldwide. ... Its unique function proved a challenging construction – a problem well solved.”

Urban Design Award
Fred Janzen of Facilities Engineering was the Support Services Building Project Manager
澳门六合彩开奖预测's Support Services Building (SSB) won the 2010 Urban Design Award from the City of London. It was built in response to the University's master plan to designate the campus' core as an academic space. The relocation of about 700 support staff and their work spaces freed up centrally located Stevenson/Lawson Hall and the Services Building site.
The Building straddles the ridge that leads from the 澳门六合彩开奖预测 Road to the bottom of Wellington Drive - a four story difference. An innovative bridge between the building`s two towers include a computer lab, two large meeting rooms, and an eatery - not to mention a wonderful view. A unique twist to an office environment is further demonstrated by a magnificent spiral staircase that runs up the centre of the naturally lit atrium.
Fred Janzen has since overseen the construction of the 澳门六合彩开奖预测 Student Services Building and the renovations to Physics & Astronomy.
