Promotion and Continuing Appointment

The Promotion and Continuing Appointment Article (PDF) applies only to Members with Probationary or Continuing Appointments, as defined in the Article Appointments.

The purpose of the Promotion and Continuing Appointment Guide (PDF) is to assist the Chief Librarian and Deans’ Offices in the administrative compilation of Promotion and/or Continuing Appointment Files for presentation to the Committee on Promotion and Continuing Appointment and subsequently to the Provost. This Guide is only meant to aid in the implementation of, not alter, the terms and provisions of the Librarians and Archivists Collective Agreement. In cases of dispute, the language of the Librarians and Archivists Collective Agreement will prevail. 

The Guide to Timelines for Promotion and Continuing Appointments (PDF) provides a description of the processes and timelines outlined in the Article Promotion and Continuing Appointment. In case of any conflict between the provisions of any Article(s) of the Collective Agreement and this document, the provisions of the Article(s) shall prevail.

The Appendix B - Promotion of Members with Continuing Appointment at Assistant Rank has been negotiated as an Appendix to the 2023-2027 UWOFA-LA Collective Agreement.
