The team in Academic Advising warmly welcomes you! Our team consists of the Associate Dean (Academic), Dr. Jan Plug, Ben Hakala, Academic Advisor, Amanda Green, Academic Advisor and Carrie Connelly-Melo, assistant to Dr. Plug and the advisors. Our advising team is here Monday – Thursday 9:30 – noon and 1:00 – 4:00, Friday 9:30 – noon for drop-in advising. We always recommend you check our website for updates to hours. We are also happy to assist via email at arts@uwo.ca.
While we understand that the transition has been stressful for some of you, please rest assured that at Arts we are here to assist. We do operate slightly differently from Brescia, and do not build schedules for you (we can assist when required), but encourage you to work at understanding your modules and requirements independently, which you can find on the and . This simply means that we know that you are capable, but can assist if you feel that you need to ensure that you have your classes for graduation or your module. A list of all of our procedures can be found here, and we also would like to draw your attention to the procedures page, as well as the new Student Medical Accommodation information that has recently been implemented, you can find information about that .
We also wanted to extend an invite for you to come and meet our advisors during our Coffee with an Advisor event which will be held on September 18th outside of our office (UC 2230). We will be providing some coffee and snacks and an oopportunity for you to come and meet our team.
