Senate Agenda - EXHIBIT I - April 20, 2001
FOR APPROVAL
Recommended: That the Senate seat held by Rick Telfer elected representative to Senate for the Graduate Student constituency, be declared vacant as a result of his resignation, and
That Anne Stock (PhD, French) be elected to complete Mr. Telfer's term (to October 31, 2001).
FOR INFORMATION
a. Effective September 2001, Senate meetings will begin at 1:30 p.m. in order that the meetings may be held in 1R40 (Room 40 of the Ivey Business School). 1R40 will be available Friday afternoons on Senate meeting dates in 2001-02. Because there will be a large class taking place in that room until 12:50 p.m., the room does not vacate immediately and time is required to do the set up for the Senate meeting, consequently Senate meetings will begin at 1:30 p.m., rather than 1:00 p.m. as has been the case in recent years. Plans are to schedule 1R40 for Senate meetings beyond the 2001-02 academic year, but confirmation can be provided only on a year-to-year basis.
b. The Senate meeting scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, will be rescheduled to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, in 1R40. A conference is booked into Room 1R40 in the Richard Ivey School of Business on Friday, June 22 consequently an alternate room must be reserved. Room 38 of the Law Building is available on Friday, however, the room would need to be wired to allow taping of the meeting. Rescheduling the meeting allows it to be held in 1R40.
