REPORT OF THE OPERATIONS/AGENDA COMMITTEE

FOR APPROVAL

1. Senate Meeting Dates 2000

Recommended: That the following Senate meeting dates for 2000 be approved, with all meetings to begin Fridays at 1:00 p.m:

2. Convocation Schedule for 2000

Spring Convocation - June 2000

Recommended: That Spring Convocation 2000 be scheduled from Tuesday, June 6 through Friday, June 9.

Fall Convocation - October 2000

Recommended: That Fall Convocation 2000 be scheduled on Thursday, October 26, and Friday, October 27.

3. Nominating Committee Membership

Composition: Seven members of Senate, elected by Senate, at least one of whom shall be a graduate student. Not more than two members may be from a single academic unit. The Faculty of Graduate Studies is not considered an academic unit in this context.

There will be three alternates who are members of Senate, one of whom is a student, to attend meetings when regular members are unable to attend.

Ex officio members include: Chair, Student Caucus on Governance

Required: One member of Senate to complete the term of Eileen Gillese who has resigned (term to November 1999). The member may not be from the Faculty of Science.

Nominee: Gerry Killan

4. Honorary Degrees Committee - Composition

Recommended: That the composition of the Honorary Degrees Committee be amended as follows:

Nine members, one of whom must be a student who is a member of Senate, elected by Senate.
