WSIB Scholarships

The Faculty of Science at 澳门六合彩开奖预测 is pleased to announce the introduction of several prestigious awards supported by the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB). These scholarships aim to support and encourage students in their academic and professional pursuits within the fields of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences, Computer Science, and Data Analytics.

The Scholarships

WSIB Statistical and Actuarial Sciences Continuing Award

  • Number: 4
  • Value: $7,500 annually for three years ($22,500 per student)
  • Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students entering Year 2 in the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences. Preference is given to students in Actuarial Sciences, though those in Financial Modelling, Data Science, or other related programs are also eligible. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or eligible to work in Canada.
  • Renewal: The award continues for Years 3 and 4 if recipients maintain a 70% average and full-time status.
  • Additional Opportunities: Recipients may have the opportunity to interview for a work term or internship with WSIB and may receive an offer of full-time employment, subject to successful program completion.

WSIB Computer Science Continuing Award

  • Number: 1
  • Value: $7,500 annually for two years ($15,000 per student)
  • Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students entering Year 3 in the Department of Computer Science. Candidates must maintain a 70% average and full-time status in Year 4 to continue receiving the award.
  • Additional Opportunities: Recipients may have the opportunity to interview for a work term or internship with WSIB and may receive an offer of full-time employment, subject to successful program completion.

Application Process

To apply for any of the WSIB scholarships, students must complete an application form by the deadline announced annually by the Faculty of Science, approximately September 30. A limited number of applicants will be selected for an interview.

Selection Criteria

Selection is based on academic achievement and an interest in the relevant field. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by representatives from WSIB, the Faculty of Science, and relevant departmental members. Final selection will be made by the Faculty of Science.
