Late-season tornado NW of Vancouver, BC on Nov 4

The NTP has confirmed a weak late-season tornado near Sechelt, BC, northwest of Vancouver, with a line of storms on the morning of November 4. The tornado felled trees along a short path, falling on power lines and briefly blocking roads including the Sunshine Coast Highway. There are two other November tornadoes on record in BC since 1980, both in the far southwestern part of the province and both occurring after this one.

Description: Witness captured video of a tornado west of Sechelt, that caused tree damage in the area. No injuries were reported. Preliminary assessment is EF0 tornado, with an estimated max. wind speed of 115 km/h, estimated track length of 0.7 km and max. path width of 130 m. Preliminary tornado motion was from the W (approx. 280 degrees). Start time is radar estimated. Satellite imagery review is pending.
