Another tornado and a downburst in QC on July 24
Based on ground/drone surveys, submitted videos, and satellite and radar imagery analysis, NTP has determined that a fourth tornado and a downburst occurred in southern QC on July 24. And brief EF0 tornado occurred in the Lac Dawson / Lakefield area and an EF1 downburst occurred in the Saint-Hippolyte area.

Tornado damage location: 45.7477N, 74.2479W
Description: Witnesses captured video of a possible tornado in the area of Lac Dawson (near Lakefield). No damage and no injuries were reported. An NTP ground and drone survey was completed on July 27, 2024, where weak tree damage was discovered near the witness locations. Damage assessed as EF0 tornado, with an estimated max. wind speed of 115 km/h. Information available insufficient to accurately estimate track length, max. path width and tornado motion. Satellite imagery review did not reveal any visible damage.

Location of worst damage: 45.8946N, 73.9939W
Description: Tree damage was reported in Saint-Hippolyte (from Lac Écho to Lac Connelly) after a storm passed through the area. No injuries were reported. An NTP ground and drone survey was completed on July 26-27, 2024, documenting intermittent damage over an area approximately 8 km long and up to 2 km wide. Weak tree damage was also visible during satellite imagery review. Damage assessed as EF1 downburst, with an estimated max. wind speed of 145 km/h. Start time is radar estimated.
