Nov 21 Tornado in Southern Ontario
Southern Ontario experienced a weak late-season QLCS tornado on November 21st as a line of evening storms moved through ahead of a cold front. A witness reported tree damage from what seemed like a tornado. A long, narrow path of tree damage was later found near Sharon, north of Newmarket, using drone imagery. A compact area of rotation was also observed on the CASKR radar at the time and location of the damage. See below for preliminary details.

- Description: Weak tree damage was reported south of Mount Albert after a line of storms passed through the area. A co-located velocity couplet was seen by CASKR radar along the storm track. An NTP ground and drone survey was completed on December 1, 2021. A path of weak tornado damage was discovered in mostly treed areas from east of Sharon to southeast of Mount Albert. Damage assessed as EF0, with an estimated max. wind speed of 115 km/h, preliminary track length of 9.0 km and max. path width of 140 m. Tornado motion was from the W (approx. 260 degrees). Satellite imagery review is pending.
