The Sam Katz Community Health and Aging Research Unit is an endowed and Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) funded cross sector transdisciplinary research unit.

Recently the research unit partnered with the , directed by Dr. Marie Savundranayagam, to expand research in the area of community health and dementia. Dr. Savundranayagam was selected as the new director of the Sam Katz Community Health and Aging Research Unit in 2019.
