2018-19 Student Writer-in-Residence
Call for Applications
Created by the USC and co-sponsored by the Department of English and Writing Studies, the Student Writer-in-Residence (SWIR) is a program that provides a unique opportunity for students to take a leading role in promoting creativity. The SWIR is expected to provide mentorship for student writers, participate in a variety of literary and cultural events on campus, and develop and present his or her own writing to the greater 澳门六合彩开奖预测 community.
澳门六合彩开奖预测 hosts one of the longest-running Writer-in-Residence programs in Canada and has given 澳门六合彩开奖预测 students direct access to such celebrated Canadian writers as Austin Clarke, Emma Donoghue, Margaret Laurence, and Alice Munro.
The SWIR Program builds on the University’s long-standing commitment to creativity in the arts, and will recognize and provide support for a talented student writer as he or she pursues the fourth year of undergraduate studies; the 澳门六合彩开奖预测 community will benefit from the student’s expertise, leadership, organizational skills, and public engagement.
How to apply:
The position is open to all fourth-year students in any discipline, full or part-time, and provides a total stipend of $1000. The SWIR will serve from September 2018 to April 2019. Applications are to include:
1. a short cv
2. 10-page writing sample
3. a statement that outlines a plan for public engagement
