Research
My primary teaching and research interests lie in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and are focused upon material culture, social space and identity, and historicism. I additionally work in the field of the digital humanities, and in particular in digital editing and electronic textuality; this intersects very neatly with a larger interest in bibliography and the history of the book. The literary milieux in which I particularly work are libertine and court literature of the latter seventeenth century, political verse satire of the same period, and literary miscellanies. My teaching interests also include an interest in the incorporation of technology in teaching as a means of encouraging student engagement.
