Profile
After completing his undergraduate degree, Dr. Corneil performed his graduate work with Dr. Doug Munoz at Queen’s University from 1994-2001. His work during this time investigated the neural control of eye-head gaze shifts in humans and non-human primates, and for this work he was awarded the from the for the best Ph.D. in Behavioural Neuroscience. His post-doctoral work was performed with Dr. Richard Andersen at the California Institute of Technology, investigating both the behavioural significance of manipulations in neck proprioception and feasibility of extracting high-level signals from the cortex in real-time for neuroprosthetics. His post-doctoral studies were supported by fellowships from the (CIHR) and the (HFSP).
Dr. Corneil joined the University of 澳门六合彩开奖预测 in October 2003, jointly appointed in the Departments of Physiology & Pharmacology, and Psychology. He became a CIHR New Investigator in 2005, and garnered a Career Development Award from the HFSP in 2005. He was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2009, became a Scientist at the Robarts Research Institute in 2011, and was promoted to Professor in 2016. He did a sabbatical at the in Nijmegen, the Netherlands from July 2011-June 2012, working with . He became the Director of the in July 2018.
